Gimp, the GNU Image Manipulation Program project has today finally released version 2.6. It looks better (now using Cairo library) and it takes us closer to other-than-eight-bit image manipulation (running GEGL image processing framework). Way to go GIMP people!
edit: Ubuntu packages are now available, see GetDeb, GetDeb PPA and Christopher Korn’s PPA (for Intrepid)
